This role is pivotal in providing mental health support and counseling services to our diverse student population, particularly focusing on 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals.

UTM is a leading institution that fosters academic excellence and personal growth among its students. Our vibrant community is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment that supports student success and well-being.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver clinical counseling and psychotherapy to individuals and groups, including crisis intervention for distressed students.
- Conduct thorough assessments of mental health needs and provide appropriate referrals to community resources.
- Facilitate workshops and group sessions aimed at enhancing mental health awareness and coping strategies.
- Utilize an anti-oppressive framework to ensure all counseling practices are inclusive and respectful of diverse identities.
- Collaborate with other university departments to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling/Psychotherapy, with current registration in Ontario.
- A minimum of five years of clinical experience in a community mental health setting.
- Proven experience working with 2SLGBTQIA+ populations and understanding their unique mental health challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgmental approach to counseling.
- Ability to manage crisis situations effectively and provide immediate support to students in need.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in delivering training and workshops related to mental health.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
- Knowledge of community mental health resources and university support services.

- Resourceful and adaptable in dynamic situations.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
