Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Second Cup (Crossiron). As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our coffee shop, ensuring exceptional customer service, and leading a team of food service staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of food service staff, including food preparation, portioning, and presentation.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
    • Hire, train, and develop food service staff to meet the needs of our coffee shop.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, exceeding customer expectations.
    • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Operations and Administration
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources.
    • Prepare and submit reports on sales, stock, repairs, and wastage.
    • Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
  • Financial Management
    • Prepare budget and cost estimates for food, supplies, and labor.
  • Work Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and lead a team of food service staff.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Working Conditions

The work environment is wet/damp, and the work setting is a coffee shop. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
