Job Title: Junior QA Tester

PopReach is a free-to-play game publisher that acquires and optimizes proven, profitable games and game franchises. With a team of over 140 professionals at studios in Vancouver, we are focused on making great games available for download on various platforms.

We are seeking a mobile game QA Tester to test our upcoming cozy game and work with the development team to track bugs and ensure a high-quality game. This is a hybrid role with in-office work 2 days a week, so only local Vancouver-area candidates will be reviewed and considered.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Thoroughly test new products/updates in development, logging and tracking any bugs found.
  2. Understand the basic functionality of iOS and Android devices and troubleshoot common issues.
  3. Carry out technical requirements testing for both iOS and Android platforms to ensure timely submissions.
  4. Develop creative testing methods to ensure a high-quality end-user experience.
  5. Write test cases based on design documents.
  6. Adapt to a fast-changing development environment and multitask with multiple software tools daily.
  7. Provide constructive quality gameplay feedback to the development teams.
  8. Be proactive and self-motivated.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 1 year of game experience in Quality Assurance.
  2. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Understanding of agile development environments and adaptability.
  4. Technologically savvy, with a passion for gaming.
  5. Familiar with using bug-tracking software (JIRA, etc.).
  6. Experience using Windows and Word Processing programs (MS Office, Google Docs, etc.).
  7. Knowledge of structured test case systems.
  8. Ability to be thorough and follow up on game issues with other QA testers, Managers, and/or the Development Teams.
  9. Demonstrate enthusiasm and eagerness to learn in a quickly evolving industry.
  10. A good team player with a positive attitude.
