Position Overview:

Pinchin Ltd. is on the lookout for a dedicated Project Technologist to enhance our Hazardous Materials and Indoor Environmental Quality division. This role is essential for conducting thorough evaluations and ensuring safety in various environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed assessments of buildings for hazardous substances including asbestos, lead, PCBs, and mould.
  • Perform investigations related to mould and indoor air quality, particularly in contexts of water damage, smoke, and fire incidents.
  • Collect and analyze samples from building materials and air, utilizing Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM) techniques.
  • Engage in fieldwork, supervising remediation activities and conducting necessary site evaluations.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors involved in the remediation processes.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation outlining findings and recommendations.
  • Effectively oversee project timelines and resource allocation.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients and subcontractors, emphasizing health, safety, and hygiene priorities.
  • Build and nurture positive relationships with clients through professional service and responsiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a college diploma in Environmental, Construction, or Architectural Technology, or a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Preferred experience in building construction or hazardous materials management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated and mature individual.
  • Excellent organizational capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications, drawings, and reports.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, insurance, and a personal vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations as required.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours and on occasional weekends.
