Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Quality Engineer to become a vital member of the BMCC (Brand, Marketing, Communications, & Citizenship) Technology team. In this dynamic role, you will engage with a diverse array of technologies and products as part of an agile development team. Your primary responsibilities will include the meticulous planning, execution, and monitoring of both manual and automated testing across various web, mobile, and back-end applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality engineering estimates and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Define testing scope and methodologies based on user stories and requirements.
  • Conduct product testing in alignment with RBC's quality engineering standards and processes.
  • Document test outcomes and log any defects identified during testing.
  • Communicate defect statuses and progress reports to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage test cases, defects, and reporting using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and qTest.
  • Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, including planning and backlog grooming.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts utilizing RBC's Test Automation Framework.
  • Identify and report issues related to functionality, performance, and other discrepancies not explicitly covered in test scripts.

Essential Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Engineering, with a strong emphasis on automated testing across various environments.
  • Proficiency in test automation frameworks and tools, such as Robot Framework, SoapUI, Postman, Selenium, and others.
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages, particularly Python, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience.
  • Familiarity with database technologies and testing, including strong SQL skills.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong presentation abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant QA certifications (e.g., CSTE, CSQA, ISTQB).
  • A degree or diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with mobile automation tools and performance testing.
  • Knowledge of microservices testing and accessibility testing.
  • Experience in optimizing test cases using various tools.
