Role Overview:

The Facilities Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing capital initiatives and enhancements to properties, ensuring that all non-technical upgrades are executed efficiently and in alignment with our financial strategies. This position will also involve collaborating with the Retail Design and Construction (RDC) team to manage landlord and tenant improvement projects. The ideal candidate will excel in multitasking and act as a liaison between various stakeholders, embodying the role of Project/Construction Manager and Tenant Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with contractors and operations leaders to evaluate and approve tenders and RFPs for non-capital projects, adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Supervise capital projects and building enhancements, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with our strategic plans.
  • Manage contracts and oversee the RFP process as necessary.
  • Conduct regular meetings with contractors and vendors for effective contract management.
  • Update Building Condition Assessments (BCA) and the 10-year capital plan in partnership with the Senior Operations Manager.
  • Lead initiatives for Health and Safety & AODA compliance within the Operations team.
  • Coordinate site assessments for various environmental factors and maintain partnerships with sustainability organizations.
  • Facilitate tenant requests and manage construction deposit releases.
  • Oversee base building projects and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Project Management:

The Facilities Operations Manager will also be tasked with reviewing lease agreements, conducting budget analyses, and sourcing necessary consultants for projects. Responsibilities include producing tender packages, managing contractor orientations, and ensuring the completion of all project documentation.
