About Wok Express

We are a dynamic and fast-paced food service company seeking a skilled Culinary Team Member to join our team. As a Culinary Team Member, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of food and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
    • Determine the size of food portions and costs to ensure efficient food preparation and minimize waste.
    • Plan menus and estimate food requirements to meet the demands of our customers.
  • Kitchen Operations
    • Co-ordinate special events and ensure seamless execution of food service.
    • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
    • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Customer Service
    • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances to ensure their safety and satisfaction.
    • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.
  • Support for Diverse Groups
    • Participate in government or community programs that support persons with disabilities, newcomers, and refugees, and provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment.
    • Offer mentorship programs that pair newcomers and refugees with experienced employees to facilitate their integration into the team.
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure seamless food service and maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure efficient kitchen operations and address any concerns or issues.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but relevant experience in food service is essential.
  • Language and Communication
    • Fluency in English is required, and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers is essential.
  • Availability and Flexibility
    • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, is required.
