The Risk Control Engineering team is essential in assisting BFL CANADA's clients in managing and minimizing risks linked to their operations and projects. We adopt a client-focused methodology, utilizing our technical knowledge and advocacy skills to aid clients in formulating practical, cost-efficient strategies that enhance safety and reduce risks.
Your main duty will be to deliver property and casualty risk control engineering services to BFL CANADA colleagues and clients, addressing their insurance placement and risk control requirements while providing the exceptional service that our clients expect. Expertise in mining operations is crucial for this role.
A typical day as a Risk Consultant includes:
Offering risk control insights and guidance to BFL CANADA colleagues and clients concerning risk control engineering, fire protection systems, boiler and machinery systems, and other insurable risks. Conducting risk control assessments and producing engineering reports for insurance placement and/or internal risk evaluations promptly and in line with BFL CANADA's best practices and standards. Advocating for BFL CANADA and our clients in response to risk control or mitigation issues. Providing risk enhancement services to clients, including the analysis and evaluation of existing risk management procedures, and formulating recommendations or action plans to mitigate losses. Building strong client relationships and delivering valuable client service to foster and maintain client engagement. Collaborating with client service teams' marketing initiatives to bolster client retention and acquisition. Contributing to the development of additional resources or services offered by the Risk Control team, such as educational seminars, technical newsletters, and internal training for BFL CANADA service teams. Working cooperatively with colleagues and other business units. Providing assistance and mentorship to fellow members of the Risk Control team.Our ideal candidate possesses:
An engineering degree (BASc, BENG, BE) or a technical degree in a relevant field (DipT, AAS, AAT), preferably with a specialization in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering. Professional engineering designations (P.Eng, PE, Ing.) are preferred and considered an asset. Essential expertise in mining operations. Over 7 years of experience in risk control engineering or a related discipline. A collaborative team player with outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities. Flexibility and a proven track record of diagnosing and resolving issues. Proficiency in French or Spanish is a plus, as our clients are spread across North America. Willingness to travel for site inspections within North America, South or Central America, and potentially beyond.About Us
