About the Role
We are seeking a driven individual to join our Risk Control Engineering team. This department is essential in assisting our clients with managing and mitigating operational risks. Our approach is client-focused, utilizing our technical knowledge and advocacy to help clients formulate effective, economical strategies that enhance safety and minimize risk.
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver risk control expertise and guidance to colleagues and clients regarding engineering, fire protection systems, and other insurable risks.
- Conduct risk assessments and produce engineering reports for insurance purposes and internal evaluations promptly and in line with our best practices.
- Act as an advocate for our clients, addressing any risk control or mitigation issues that arise.
- Provide risk enhancement services, including analyzing existing procedures and formulating recommendations to reduce potential losses.
- Foster strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service to ensure client satisfaction and engagement.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to support client retention and new client acquisition efforts.
- Contribute to the development of additional resources, such as educational seminars and technical publications.
- Work in partnership with colleagues across various business units.
- Offer support and mentorship to fellow team members.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Degree in Engineering (BASc, BENG, BE) or a relevant technical qualification (DipT, AAS, AAT), preferably with a specialization in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering.
- Professional engineering certifications (P.Eng, PE, Ing.) are advantageous.
- Significant expertise in mining operations is crucial.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in risk control engineering or a related discipline.
- A collaborative team player with outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated flexibility and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in French or Spanish is a plus, as our clientele spans North America.
- Willingness to travel for site evaluations across North America and potentially beyond.
