What is the Opportunity?

We are seeking a highly skilled Workday Integration Specialist to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Global Functions Technology division, you will play a critical role in delivering high-performing applications and collaborating with partners across the company to drive innovative and transformative IT solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems, applying extensive knowledge, skills, and practices to perform complex assignments.
  • Work closely with technical and functional/business teams, as well as vendors, to execute the HCM Program (Plan, Architect, Build, Test, and Deploy) and provide Workday Sustainment.
  • Coordinate with HR teams, senior stakeholders, business management, QA, developers, and 3rd party vendors to complete deliverables within the HCM program and Workday Sustainment.

Technical Analysis and Consulting

  • Assess and analyze integration requirements, current state environment, and technology platforms to define and propose solutions that meet functional integration needs across the Workday ecosystem, including a future HCM solution and multiple 3rd party internal/external systems.
  • Build integration solutions ensuring successful deployment using various integration product technologies/tools and services.
  • Develop strong, sustainable relationships with the business and functional team by joining them in workshops to elicit their needs and understand their wants, which meets business requirements.
  • Identify technical issues and risks and define mitigation approaches working closely with delivery and operations teams.
  • Work with impacted/dependent groups to coordinate integration across systems.
  • Participate in detailed design sessions for identifying, tracking, and resolving issues related to integration design/build.
  • Understand integration interdependency and mitigate issues arising due to those dependencies.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and new functionalities in areas related to Workday integration and other domains.

Planning, Implementation & Support

  • Help manage integration deliverables associated with the HCM project & Workday Implementation.
  • Work closely with the QA team to help them understand the integration design, architecture, and functionalities while managing testing use cases.
  • Understand where blockers form and track issues and risks, working with the PMO and other team members to mitigate them.
  • Participate and provide feedback on project implementation plans and support requirements.
  • Demonstrate ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at a time.
  • Quick decision-making process to know when to push back, when to escalate, and make sensible decisions taking a balanced view of requirements.
  • Ability to drive the CR process specific to integration.
  • Sound understanding of functional domain to analyze impact of functional CR on integrations.
  • Provide forward-thinking technical leadership for integration design and development with understanding of current and future Technology and Operations Management (TOM).
  • Identify and solve issues leveraging platforms such as Workday Community.

Relationships & Communication

  • Work closely with HRCT Architects and Lead Architect to continuously ensure alignment with business and technology strategy with an integration focus.
  • Effectively communicate and build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and interfacing groups using a variety of techniques and collaboration from initiation to close.
  • Facilitate small to large group meetings for technical design/architecture, decision making, problem-solving, and task implementation.
  • Resolve technical conflicts/issues and escalate to others as appropriate.

Development & Coaching

  • Act as team leader, facilitate knowledge transfer sessions, and provide day-to-day direction, expertise, feedback, coaching, and development to build the capability of more junior staff.
  • Continually enhance skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business, and information systems.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Workday Integration and IT infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Workday Implementation & Support Experience.
  • 3-5 years' Experience in Workday Ecosystem.
  • Must have led a team of Integration Developers in the past.
