Position Overview

We are seeking a Financial Analyst to become an integral part of our Financial Planning and Analysis Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring our financial operations align with our mission of enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial reports and monitor accounts to assist in operational reporting.
  • Develop and implement financial analyses to improve financial outcomes and support decision-making processes.
  • Engage in monthly variance and labor discussions to assess financial performance.
  • Ensure monthly revenue entries are accurate and in accordance with contracts and forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation and verification of protected reports to meet external reporting standards.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Labor Relations to update per diem rates in response to changes in agreements.
  • Build strong relationships with operations, finance, and external stakeholders to enhance collaboration.
  • Support the Finance Manager with the development and analysis of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Conduct monthly income statement analyses, identifying risks and opportunities for the Long-Term Care Division.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A university degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Progress towards CPA certification or a willingness to pursue it; an MBA is considered an asset.
  • Experience in building financial models, budgeting, and providing analytical insights.
  • Familiarity with financial software such as Yardi or Adaptive Insights is advantageous.
  • A genuine passion for the healthcare sector and a commitment to improving the lives of seniors.
