Design Architect Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Design Architect to join our team at the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. This position will focus on the design of public safety and justice projects, working closely with clients to deliver innovative and functional designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects from concept to close-out, ensuring creative, functional, and innovative designs for public safety and justice clients.
  • Manage projects throughout the design phase, overseeing the development of design and contract documents.
  • Develop and promote design excellence standards, maintaining technical quality standards and advocating for collaboration and integrated design.
  • Business Development: participate in marketing, proposal development, and fee preparation, maintaining client relationships and supporting the construction administration team.
Requirements:
  • University Degree in Architecture.
  • Registered Architect with the OAA – 6+ years of experience.
  • Experience working with public safety and justice clients, with demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education considered.
Preferred Requirements:
  • 10+ years of Architectural experience working with public safety and justice clients.
  • Registration with AAA/AIBC/OAQ/AIA is an asset.
  • LEED certification and project experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience with project leadership and managing complex projects.
