Job Title: Interior Designer Technologist

At Next Generation Design Wave, we are seeking an experienced Interior Designer Technologist to join our team. As a critical bridge between conceptual design and construction phases, this role will collaborate closely with the architectural team, consultants, and suppliers to ensure both aesthetic alignment and functional execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present design concepts that align with the overall vision of the building, seeking client approval through quality drawings, models, and renderings.
  • Attend client meetings and actively participate in all phases of design approval (schematic, 30%, 60%, and 90% design development).
  • Coordinate with consultants, prepare meeting agendas, and distribute meeting minutes. Review drawings prior to the architect's evaluation and document project milestones.
  • Manage and update the interior design schedule in Wrike or Microsoft Planner, reporting on task progress.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Architectural Technology an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in Interior Design
  • Considerable knowledge of modern building construction methods and materials
  • Considerable knowledge of the terminology, methods, practices, and techniques of architectural drafting
  • Ability to prepare architectural designs, plans, and specifications, using AutoCad and Revit
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the team
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code
  • Excellent presentation and graphic skills
