Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis to lead and manage financial planning and analysis support for one or more business units at Hootsuite Inc. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive informed decision-making and achieve financial goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build Strategic Relationships: Develop trusted relationships with key cross-functional business partners and stakeholders and establish the proper cadence and level of information sharing to successfully analyze, forecast, and report on business unit(s) performance.
  • Establish KPIs and Monitoring Processes: Support in establishing key performance indicators and related monitoring processes, including driving the development of data and reporting infrastructures to effectively analyze, monitor, and report on key business drivers. Recommend actions to improve performance based on analysis.
  • Own Financial Modeling: Own and manage all aspects of financial modeling for the business unit(s), including scenario modeling, risk/opportunity assessment, and optimizing resource allocation. Perform strategic and financial analysis to support major decisions for the business unit(s) using a data-driven approach.
  • Support Financial Planning Processes: Support the delivery of key company-wide financial and strategic planning processes, such as quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range planning. Prepare Board materials and other key deliverables.
  • Provide In-Depth Analysis: Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual in-depth analysis, providing visibility to management of variances from expectations with a focus on understanding key drivers and continuously improving accuracy. Author clear narratives that describe business performance and strategy.
  • Identify and Drive Improvements: Proactively identify and drive improvements to current processes, reports, and models by leveraging financial data, non-financial data, external benchmarks, automation, and prior industry experiences.
  • Partner with Data Team: Partner with the Data team to ensure consistency and reliability of key data. Design and validate new metrics, models, and dashboards to drive key insights on the business.
  • Lead a High-Performing Team: Manage a lean, high-performing team with an inclusive, direct, and growth-mindset leadership approach, promoting knowledge sharing and providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to foster a high-performance environment in support of Hootsuite's mission.
  • Perform Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Software Experience: Extensive software or SaaS experience in high-growth environments; strong knowledge of key SaaS metrics, such as ACV, Customers, LTV, CAC, Cohort Analysis, GRR, NRR, IQRR, etc.
  • Financial Modeling Skills: Advanced financial modeling skills, including Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace applications, with the ability to swiftly and effectively translate ambiguity into succinct outputs.
  • Professional Designation: Professional accounting designation, such as CPA, CFA, or an MBA, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record and enthusiasm for building, managing, mentoring, and inspiring teams and influencing peer organizations; ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently and proactively to deliver accurate, high-quality outputs with minimal oversight.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Outstanding interpersonal skills and eagerness to work in collaboration with multiple cross-functional partners/stakeholders.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication, presentation, and writing skills with the proven ability to link business issues, financial results, and strategy and influence senior leadership, particularly those unfamiliar with financial concepts.
