We are seeking a highly skilled Training Development Specialist to join our team at Gerrie Electric, a leading electrical distributor in Ontario. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our employees.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement training programs to meet the needs of our employees, including orientation, product training, and health and safety training.
- Collaborate with directors, branch managers, and executive team members to identify training requirements and develop training plans.
- Design and deliver training sessions, including virtual training through TEAMS, and maintain a training library on our company intranet.
- Ensure all new employees receive basic training requirements, including orientation, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and job functions.
- Stay current with health and safety standards and ministry requirements, and collaborate with the Director of HR as needed.
- Coordinate and schedule health and safety training, fork lift theory and practical evaluation, and first aid training.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects, prepare and maintain training materials, and own the logging, records, and controls of all training and assessments.
- Prepare monthly reports for managers, directors, and executive team members, and update the branch manager meeting in conjunction with the ISO Coordinator.
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma in an HR training-related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with adult learners.
- Excellent knowledge of adult learning theories, learning designs, and delivery, and capability development.
- Experience in industrial settings is an asset.
- Knowledge of OHS legislation.
