Job Summary:
Canada North Environmental Services is seeking an experienced Environmental Risk Specialist to join our team in Markham, ON. As an Environmental Risk Specialist, you will be responsible for leading and completing risk assessments, data management, and quantitative analyses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and complete risk assessments, data management, and quantitative analyses
- Conduct fate and transport modeling, including water quality modeling
- Prepare technical reports
- Complete screening/qualitative reports
- Prepare cost estimates and proposals
- Develop clear language materials, reports, and presentations
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in chemical or environmental engineering, or environmental science
- A minimum of 8 years' experience working in the field of environmental risk assessment/modelling, conducting human and ecological risk assessments
- Experience conducting O. Reg 153/04 assessments and federal risk assessments
- Experience performing quantitative analysis including fate and transport modeling
- Experience with MATLAB would be an asset
- Experience with fate and transport modeling would be an asset
- Data analysis, statistics, and use of advanced functions in Excel
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Creative mindset and problem-solving skills
- Strong client service attitude, responsiveness, and sense of urgency
