We are seeking a highly skilled Metallurgist to join our team at the Gahcho Kué Mine in the Northwest Territories. As a Metallurgist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and optimum performance of our ore processing department.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement metallurgical processes to optimize plant performance and product quality.
- Collaborate with the geology and mining engineering departments to provide input on process recovery factors and MCF.
- Analyze and report laboratory results to inform process improvements.
- Provide guidance and support to laboratory technicians and de-falsifiers to develop their skills.
- Prepare, maintain, and update laboratory procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Audit the process to prevent product loss and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide coverage to the sort house and laboratory operations as needed.
- Work closely with the Plant Operations and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure optimal process performance.
- Assist the Ore Processing Manager and Process Plant Superintendents with budget preparations, production planning, and maintenance activities.
- Degree in extractive metallurgy, mineral processing, or chemical engineering.
- 2-5 years of experience in a mineral processing plant, preferably in the diamond industry.
- Currently possessing or able to possess a Professional Engineering (P. Eng.) designation.
- Experience with plant simulations and physical separation theory.
- Excellent data analysis and database query skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
