Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Vice-President of Portfolio Management & Taxes, the Capital Markets Financial Analyst will be instrumental in supporting the finance department by:

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management:

  • Conduct monthly audits on active portfolios managed by operating partners for invoicing and collections.
  • Engage in operational audits with partners to ensure compliance with our standards and assess risks.
  • Reconcile discrepancies identified during audits, including both internal and external data.
  • Provide assistance in rectifying any identified errors.
  • Generate audit reports and present findings to management.
  • Report irregularities to the panel of participants to assess financial implications.
  • Monitor monetary reserves and determine appropriate reserve releases based on portfolio performance.
  • Facilitate collaboration among internal and external partners throughout the entire transaction cycle (Sales – Pricing – Credit – Documentation – Accounting – Customer service – Collection).

Sales Support:

  • Assist the reconciliation team in producing comprehensive reports for external investors.
  • Develop and communicate monthly reports to our partners.
  • Collaborate with capital markets managers for invoicing and trading activities.
  • Prepare all sales documentation (credit files, contracts, analyses, etc.) according to established schedules.
  • Undertake any other related tasks as required.

Desired Profile:

  • Bilingual in French and English (both written and spoken).
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar capacity, with a background in Capital Markets accounting being advantageous.
  • Educational qualifications in Business Administration, Finance, or related fields; MBA, CPA, CMA, or CFA designations are considered assets.
  • Proficient technical and computer skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Strong understanding of the financial landscape and excellent analytical abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple and varied tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision.
