Job Title: Mental Health Clinician

Sinai Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team in the Department of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital Campus. As a key member of our inter-professional team, you will provide high-quality clinical care to adults facing mental health challenges, working collaboratively with clients, families, and community partners to promote recovery and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and provide clinical care that supports integrated care and recovery for adults with complex mental health needs.
  • Triage, assess, and develop treatment plans, providing resource navigation and psychosocial interventions in collaboration with the inter-professional team and clients' social networks.
  • Provide individual and group treatments in various modalities, adapting to meet the needs of diverse clients.
  • Assist with resource navigation and linkage to community mental health services, supporting transitions and ongoing care.
  • Foster community engagement with external partners and agencies, promoting a trauma-focused, equity-centred approach to client care.
  • Contribute to program development, provide education, and support learners of all disciplines.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a health-related discipline, including Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or a related clinical discipline.
  • Registration and current membership in good standing with a relevant regulatory college.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a mental health setting, with a preference for experience working with people living with HIV, medical psychiatry patients, and outpatient mental health settings.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic interventions targeting mood, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and motivation for change through individual and group modalities.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, crisis intervention skills, support for addiction issues, and interventions for severe and persistent mental illness.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication, time management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as a team member in a dynamic, inter-professional environment.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Mental Health Act, the Substitute Decisions Act, the Health Care Consent Act, and PHIPA requirements.
