Job Title: Mental Health Intake Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Intake Specialist to join our team at the Canadian Mental Health Association York Region and South Simcoe (CMHA-YRSS). As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health services to individuals and families in our community.

Job Summary:

The Mental Health Intake Specialist will be responsible for conducting clinical intakes, triaging clients, and providing service navigation to ensure that individuals receive the most appropriate mental health services. This role requires strong assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct clinical intakes and assessments to determine the most appropriate mental health services for clients
  • Triage clients to ensure they receive the most suitable services
  • Provide service navigation to support clients in accessing mental health services
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to enhance service delivery
Requirements:
  • Registered Social Worker or Social Service Worker with a related diploma or Bachelor of Social Work
  • Full Member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
  • Three or more years of experience in a mental health setting, with a focus on mood and anxiety disorders
  • Excellent assessment skills, sound clinical judgment, and diagnostic skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
