Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Medical Device Development

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our medical device development projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing complex electro-mechanical systems development projects from concept to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and inspire design teams to develop new products and technologies.
  • Initiate and steer practical brainstorming sessions to foster open-minded, out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Effectively manage the triple constraint of budget, schedule, and scope on complex, dynamic product development programs.
  • Assist and lead elements for the Project Management Office (PMO), including conducting reports with other project managers and updating processes.
  • Strategically manage expectations with clients, including separating need from want and presenting trade-off evaluations to support decision-making.
  • Apply a risk management-centric approach to highlight and disposition threats and opportunities actively.
  • Mentor and support the development of other project managers and junior project managers.
  • Oversee and direct the work of other project managers and junior project managers.
  • Initiate and lead appropriate design reviews as required.
  • Interface with Business Development and Program Managers to support the transfer of new activities into Engineering.
  • Supervise team members' work to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, company procedures, product requirements, and specifications.
  • Support vendor quotations, POs, and lead times to monitor BOM targets and ensure cost-effective manufacturing processes are chosen during design.
  • Work closely with clients, team members, and vendors to monitor and control schedules and budgets.
  • Ensure all required design and quality documentation is completed and all design processes are followed.
  • Adhere to and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS), including developing and maintaining documentation.
  • Continue to support products through the manufacturing transfer and ongoing production, including creating and managing ECRs and ECOs and liaising with clients to resolve product issues.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree, physical science degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager in a consulting environment is desired, and experience in a regulated industry, whether medical or not, would be advantageous.
  • PMP certification is not required, but we will consider experienced candidates with the qualifications.
  • Experience with software development, CAD, FEA analysis, rapid prototyping, PCB layout, or manufacturing processes is desired.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing similar projects is required to succeed in this role.
