Career Opportunity: Facilities Operations Manager
We are seeking a committed professional to oversee and enhance the management of client facilities at Black & McDonald Limited. The Facilities Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of buildings, supervising staff and contractors, and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction. This role will also emphasize financial performance through strategic planning and the establishment of effective controls and procedures.
- Oversee all aspects of facility operations to align with contract specifications and client expectations
- Design and implement a thorough maintenance strategy, including the training of maintenance staff
- Manage employee performance through constructive feedback and guidance
- Address issues and disputes with professionalism and transparent communication
- Collaborate with both internal and external partners to prioritize tasks effectively
- Coordinate utility operations and develop project proposals
- Monitor project budgets, manage both operational and capital initiatives, and negotiate service agreements
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, quality assurance, and environmental regulations
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, assess expenditures, and respond to facility-related emergencies

Education Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline
Work Experience Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in facility maintenance preferred
- In-depth knowledge of building systems and experience in managing facility services
- Experience in project management within commercial properties
- Familiarity with local and national building regulations
- Experience in aviation-related environments is a plus
Skills and Other Requirements:
- Exceptional problem-solving skills
- Leadership experience
- Effective time management and adaptability to varying work hours
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proactive in anticipating client needs
- Strong team leadership capabilities
- Valid driver's license is necessary
- Must successfully complete a police reference check
- Security clearance may be required
