Job Summary

The Boiler Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial boilers and related equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of boiler systems, electrical and mechanical principles, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial boilers and related equipment, including wiring, firing, and testing.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting equipment, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose boiler system issues, using knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles to identify and resolve problems.
  • Work with customers to understand their boiler system needs and provide recommendations for upgrades and improvements.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and management to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, attending training sessions and workshops as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical, control, and boiler field.
  • Class A Gas ticket.
  • Ability to read and work from schematics.
  • Knowledge of boiler controls, including Autoflame, Honeywell, Fireye, and Siemens.
  • Mechanical and electrical background.
  • Ability to troubleshoot boilers and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to retrofit control systems in the field.
  • Backflow testing certificate is an asset.

Benefits

Hourly rate of $46.63, determined by UA Local 170 CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through the union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. Overscale may be offered to qualified candidates.
