About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales and Operations Unit Manager to join our Direct Distribution team in the West Division of Belair Insurance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of sales agents in a contact-centre environment, driving sales growth, and implementing strategies to improve contact centre performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and communicate sales objectives and develop strategies to achieve corporate goals.
  • Lead the implementation and launch of sales-related activities and strategic projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve contact centre performance.
  • Coach and provide direction to sales agents to develop customized strategies to improve performance, develop talent, and increase engagement.
  • Manage team operations by organizing, planning, and monitoring the optimal use of resources in accordance with corporate strategic objectives.
  • Act as a resource person for escalated sales issues.
  • Work in close partnership with operations director, operations manager, underwriting, external independent brokers, and account receivables to ensure alignment and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in projects, committees, and task forces to assist in the implementation of action plans.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of insurance experience is required.
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset.
  • Strong coaching ability; experience implementing both team and individual plans with positive results.
  • Proven ability in making strategic decisions independently and in a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience focusing on employee engagement and building strategic internal relationships.
  • Ability to assume the management of a team within the corporate vision and values.
  • Confidence in their own abilities to take risks and implement change.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data.
  • Strong sales orientation.
  • Alberta, British Columbia & Ontario insurance licenses & knowledge are an asset.
  • Level 2 insurance license is an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in business administration or a related field is an asset.
  • CIP or FCIP designation is an asset.
