OCAD University invites applications for a sessional instructor position in the Faculty of Arts and Science. The successful candidate will teach the course VISA-3002: Art and Feminism (0.5 credit) in the fall/winter terms.
Course DescriptionThis course will explore the impact of feminism on the production, reception, and exhibition of art. Topics will include the social construction of gender in art and visual culture, the confluence of race, class, and sexual identity, and feminist contributions to the development of installation and performance art.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver course outlines, studio preparation, and lectures
- Grade student work, conduct mid-term evaluations, and final reviews
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Terminal degree in art, design, or relevant discipline
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership in promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment
Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6, per 0.5 credit course, plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
