Teaching Opportunity in New Media Art History

OCAD University invites applications for a sessional instructor position in the History of New Media Art. The successful candidate will teach a survey course that explores the relationship between art and media from the early days of photography and avant-garde cinema to contemporary digital and video art practices.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver course outlines, lectures, critiques, and evaluations
  • Prepare and teach studio classes, including lectures and critiques
  • Grade student work and provide feedback
  • Meet academic and curricular requirements and deadlines
Qualifications
  • Terminal degree in art, design, or relevant discipline
  • Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment
Terms of Employment

Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6,000 per 0.5 credit course, plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.

The successful candidate will be expected to meet the academic and curricular requirements and deadlines, and to promote a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment.
