Overview

The University of Ottawa seeks a qualified Part-Time Professor to deliver an engaging course in Computer Engineering focused on microprocessors and embedded systems.

Position Summary

This role involves instructing students in the fundamentals of microprocessor architecture, CISC and RISC designs, microcontroller applications, and embedded system development. The successful candidate will guide students through the principles of computer design and introduce them to the collaborative world of software-hardware co-design.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lectures and tutorials on microprocessor architecture, CISC and RISC designs, microcontrollers, and embedded systems.
  • Develop and implement course materials that align with the curriculum objectives.
  • Facilitate student learning through interactive discussions, problem-solving activities, and hands-on projects.
  • Provide constructive feedback on student assignments and assessments.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in the course content, evidenced by teaching experience or relevant professional work history.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering license is required.
  • A Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or a closely related field is preferred. Substantial post-doctoral work experience in a relevant field will also be considered.

Additional Information

This position requires fluency in French and the ability to teach in person with mandatory weekly tutorials. Equivalent education/experience may be considered.
