Job Summary:

Pembina Trails School Division is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Assistant 2 (EA2) to support students with diverse needs and abilities. As a key member of our educational team, you will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other professionals to promote inclusive practices and foster a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with behavioral and learning challenges in a supportive and non-judgmental manner
  • Provide academic support to students in classroom, small group, and individual settings
  • Deliver specialized or adapted programming to students under the direction of the classroom teacher and resource teacher
  • Document student progress and provide feedback to teachers and administrators
  • Supervise recess and lunch duty, as well as assist with the swim program
  • Administer student medication as determined by the student's U.R.I.S. plan
  • Support students in community-based programs and provide emotional, behavioral, and physical support as needed
  • Be flexible and adapt to students' educational programming needs
  • Use augmentative and alternative communication to support students with diverse needs
  • Facilitate the transport of students between education sites

EA2 Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care assistance, including diapering and toileting support
  • Lift and assist with transitional movements and mobility training
  • Administer health care procedures, including gastronomy feeding
  • Utilize specialized devices and equipment to support students' needs
