GENERAL FUNCTION

The Student Optician plays a vital role in creating exceptional experiences for customers by delivering our Signature Customer Experiences. You will ensure customer satisfaction by following our sales model and fostering an environment conducive to learning and skill development.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Commitment to delivering outstanding Customer Service
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach, with accurate execution and product knowledge
  • Assist customers in their selections, provide recommendations, and educate them on adjustment services
  • Patient and courteous with customers who may need guidance; respond to inquiries regarding products
  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for associates, leveraging your optical expertise
  • Work under the supervision of a Licensed Optician
  • Record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately to meet customer needs
  • Operate the Point of Sale terminal, ensuring precise input of customer and prescription information
  • Maintain the store's appearance and visual merchandising standards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in an Opticianry program
  • Experience in optical dispensing
  • Understanding of current optical theories and product offerings
  • Familiarity with store merchandise and inventory management systems
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Sales capabilities, including proficiency with tablets
  • Comfortable utilizing technology to engage with patients, customers, and team members

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Actively pursuing LensCrafters Final Inspector Certification
  • Engaged in LensCrafters Quality, Fitting, and Adjusting Program
  • Previous experience in customer service and retail environments
