GENERAL FUNCTION
The Optical Student Associate plays a crucial role in enriching customer experiences by delivering exceptional service. This position ensures that customers are consistently satisfied by adhering to our sales methodology. Additionally, it involves mentoring others in optical skills and fostering a productive learning atmosphere.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dedication to providing unparalleled customer service
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach, with precise execution and product knowledge
- Guides customers in their selections, offers recommendations, and educates on adjustment services
- Patient and courteous with uncertain customers; addresses inquiries regarding products
- Acts as a knowledgeable resource in optical matters, representing associates through expertise
- Operates under the supervision of a licensed optician
- Records measurements, adjusts and fits eyewear accurately to meet customer needs
- Utilizes the Point of Sale system to input customer and prescription data with precision
- Takes pride in the store's appearance and visual merchandising
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled in an Opticianry program
- Experience in optical dispensing
- Understanding of contemporary optical theory and product offerings
- Familiarity with current store merchandise and inventory management systems
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Sales capabilities, including proficiency with technology such as tablets
- Comfortable using technology to engage with patients, customers, and colleagues
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Actively pursuing LensCrafters Final Inspector Certification
- Currently studying LensCrafters Quality, Fitting, and Adjusting Program
- Previous experience in customer service and retail environments
Compensation is influenced by various factors, including location, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage standards. Additionally, a competitive bonus and/or commission structure may be available, complementing a comprehensive rewards package.
