Role Summary:

The Space Planning division plays a vital role in the national strategy for Parkland's convenience store network and the On the Run brand. The Space Planning Specialist is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience across Parkland's Corporate and Dealer locations, comprising a network of 900 stores. This position involves collaboration with multiple internal teams such as Operations, Merchandising, Construction, and Marketing, as well as managing relationships with external partners including vendors and third-party merchandising teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employ RELEX software, data analytics, and established guidelines to develop store layouts prioritizing customer experience and navigation
  • Utilize analytical skills and software capabilities to optimize category sales in relation to space allocations
  • Foster collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions from layout design to on-site execution, addressing any deficiencies
  • Analyze site-level feedback and implement solutions that align with site and corporate objectives
  • Maintain a comprehensive database to monitor all layouts and specific site attributes
  • Oversee merchandising activities during initial store setups and refresh projects, coordinating with third-party merchandisers, vendors, and construction teams
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with RELEX Solutions planning platform
  • Experience with CAD software or other Space Planning tools
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to make informed decisions based on data
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal abilities
  • Self-motivated with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Background in retail
  • Experience in category management and/or merchandising
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of leading and contributing to cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and eager to learn new software
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Bilingualism is an asset but not mandatory
