Role Summary:
The Space Planning division plays a crucial role in driving Parkland's expansion strategies for its convenience store network and the On the Run brand. The Space Planning Specialist is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience across Parkland's corporate and dealer locations, which encompass a network of 900 stores. This position requires collaboration with multiple internal teams, including Operations, Merchandising, Construction, and Marketing, as well as managing relationships with external partners such as vendors and third-party merchandising teams.Key Responsibilities:
- Employ RELEX software, data insights, and established protocols to design store layouts that prioritize customer experience and navigation
- Utilize analytical capabilities and software tools to optimize category sales relative to space allocations
- Foster collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from layout design to execution at the site level, addressing any deficiencies
- Analyze site-specific feedback and implement solutions that align with both site and organizational objectives
- Maintain a comprehensive database to document all layouts and site-specific characteristics
- Oversee merchandising initiatives during initial store setups and refresh projects, coordinating with third-party merchandisers, vendors, and construction teams
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in RELEX Solutions planning platform
- Experience with CAD software or similar Space Planning tools
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Innovative problem solver capable of making informed decisions based on data and established standards
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated individual with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Background in retail operations
- Experience in category management and/or merchandising
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment
- Capacity to lead and contribute effectively within cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and a willingness to learn new software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingualism is an asset but not mandatory
