Technical Performance Manager

Overview
The role focuses on the effective oversight of Technical Performance, Training, Quality Processes, and Technical Data to guarantee superior product performance, management of raw material costs, and adherence to quality control processes. This position requires the development and maintenance of expertise in leading quality control methodologies and technical data management systems for RMX within Holcim.
Key Responsibilities
Safety:
- Enforce Holcim Safety Policies and ensure compliance with relevant legislation while providing training and orientation for all staff.
- Assist in conducting Job Hazard Analysis for QC roles and the creation of Safety Improvement Plans.
Human Resources:
- Recruit, train, and develop technical personnel to promote excellence and consistency, including succession planning initiatives.
- Oversee the activities of technical staff and develop training programs for quality, sales, and operations personnel, as well as additional data-related training for customers.
Concrete Product Performance & Optimization:
- Support the formulation and management of annual mix cost and performance optimization strategies.
- Develop and implement standard mix design methodologies and management systems in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Ensure that specifications and best practices are recognized and adhered to by QC teams across the organization.
- Establish quality control processes to mitigate customer claims and product failures.
- Manage the QC database and ensure accurate item uploads, including necessary codes for pricing and reporting.
- Standardize tools and processes for accurate batching and quality, and conduct statistical analyses of operational performance.
- Monitor and report on RMX KPI performance, investigating variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Identify synergies between aggregates, cement, and concrete to enhance product utilization and efficiency.
- Develop optimization and performance testing programs supported by data analysis.
Contract Review:
- Establish and implement contract review processes in collaboration with QC and Technical managers.
- Review large project specifications and provide recommendations for mix designs and product alternatives.
- Support the preparation and submission of Mix Design Documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Coordinate technical training programs and define best practices for specifications review.
Technical Support & Development:
- Develop and implement Quality plans and processes, conducting audits and monitoring improvement actions.
- Provide expert customer support for specification activities and quality incident investigations.
- Lead Quality Plant audit programs to assess operations and quality processes impacting product performance.
- Collaborate with local teams to create actionable plans and facilitate training programs.
Technical Data Transformation & Digital Solutions:
- Manage digital initiatives and develop data strategies to enhance performance and reduce costs.
- Create tools and training materials to leverage data and digital solutions effectively.
Financial Accountability:
- Contribute to the annual budget preparation and monitor quality incidents and costs.
- Collaborate with finance to develop analytical tools for cost control and identify savings opportunities.
Lobby/Representation:
- Participate in industry organizations and Quality Standards Committees to represent Holcim.
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Engineering or Data Science preferred, with relevant experience in construction or building materials.
- Experience with Big Data, Digital Solutions, and AI is advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent people management and communication skills.
- Proficient in computer software and reporting tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively and generate comprehensive reports.
- Disciplined and detail-oriented approach to processes and reporting.
