As we expand our operations, we are looking for an intermediate to senior level AIBC registered architect to bolster our team's capabilities and support our ongoing growth.
Position Overview
We are in search of a highly qualified Senior Architect to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving our architectural projects forward, contributing significantly to the success and development of our firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural initiatives by managing and coordinating essential project tasks consistently.
- Formulate project timelines, outline project scopes, and ensure the timely execution of tasks and milestones.
- Collaborate with the team to create detailed project management plans.
- Organize team structures, allocate resources efficiently, and oversee subcontractors to adhere to project schedules.
- Establish quality benchmarks for projects and implement quality assurance protocols to fulfill client expectations.
- Develop client management strategies and maintain effective communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee project budgets, provide accurate cost estimates, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Apply risk management techniques and develop contingency plans to address potential project risks.
- Engage in long-term planning, policy development, and goal-setting for the firm.
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of the Vancouver Building Bylaw, BC Building Code, and municipal Zoning Regulations.
- Proven ability to create innovative and effective design solutions that address complex program and site requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in producing high-quality, constructible design documents, including Development Permit, Building Permit, and detailed contract documents in both combustible and non-combustible construction settings.
- Experience in direct client interaction, coordinating with consultants, contractors, and municipal authorities.
- Proven track record of leading teams through all phases of project execution.
- Exceptional project management capabilities.
- Proficiency in Vectorworks/Revit is essential, with familiarity in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign, considered an asset.
