About the Role

Newtech Renovation Inc is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, taping joints, and applying successive coats of compound to create smooth surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Finishing
    • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit
    • Apply joint compound to seams and joints, and smooth out excess compound
    • Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat
  • Preparation and Cleaning
    • Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation
    • Remove old drywall, nails, and other debris from walls and ceilings
  • Tools and Equipment
    • Operate power tools, such as drywall saws and sanders, to cut and smooth drywall
    • Use hand tools, like trowels and broad knives, to apply joint compound and smooth surfaces
  • Safety and Quality
    • Follow safety protocols to prevent injuries and ensure a safe working environment
    • Inspect work for quality and accuracy, and make adjustments as needed
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Experience
    • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in drywall installation or a related field
  • Language
    • Fluency in English
  • Work Schedule
    • 35 hours per week
