Limited Term Faculty Positions in Technical Communication and Technology Studies

The Centre for Engineering in Society at Concordia University invites applications for two Limited Term Appointment (LTA) faculty members at the rank of Lecturer in the areas of Technical Communication and Technology Society.
About the PositionThis is a 24-month Limited Term contract opportunity. The successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses within one or more of the following areas:
- Technical and Professional Communication
- Impact of Engineering on Society
- Social and Ethical Implications of Digital Technologies
- Gender, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
Candidates will also be expected to develop online courses as part of their teaching load.
Qualifications and AssetsCandidates should hold a Ph.D. in Technical Communication, Science and Technology Studies, or another discipline that contributes to CES's mission.
The department is looking for candidates who bring a demonstrated ability in teaching engineering students with at least one of the following:
- Experience with writing support technologies to assist students for whom English is a second or foreign language
- Teaching experience at the university level in the area of Technology, Engineering, and Society related to gender, equity, or sustainability
Experience with developing courses, especially in an online format, will be an asset.
Candidates are encouraged to share any career interruptions or personal circumstances that may have had an impact on their career goals in their letter of application.
About Concordia UniversityConcordia University is an English-language institution of higher learning at which the primary language of instruction and research is English.
Proficiency in English is required. Working knowledge of French, including reading and grading student work in French, is an asset.
