Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant Team Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Department Manager in achieving company, store, and department goals. You will provide superior customer service, support the development of the team, and effectively communicate with colleagues and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Team Development: Assist in the development of the team by supporting training, coaching, and recognition, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and trust.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with colleagues and management, including huddles, product knowledge, corporate policies, and procedures.
  • Floor Support: Provide floor support and supervision, including serving customers, merchandising, rotation, breaks, and general department cleanliness.
  • Office Management: Support office management, including completing inventory and orders, invoices, scheduling, and payroll.
  • Additional Responsibilities: May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

Qualifications

  • Education: Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in a similar role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral. Good judgment and decision-making abilities while communicating with customers and colleagues.
  • Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining priorities and a high level of performance. Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Fluency in English and French is an asset.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Work Environment: Providing service to several people or departments, working under many simultaneous deadlines.
  • Physical Demands: Required to stand and walk for long periods of time during shift. Required to lift, carry, or handle heavy objects.
