We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team at HR Performance & Results. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for assisting clients and team members with complex taxation matters, communicating with clients and outside professionals, and reviewing and finalizing tax returns.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist clients with complex taxation matters and questions.
- Communicate directly with clients and outside professionals on tax work.
- Review and finalize tax returns, including personal, trust, and corporate tax returns.
- Prepare and review research memos to support opinions on sophisticated tax matters.
- Identify planning opportunities and implement corporate reorganization work for clients.
- Review and provide feedback on legal instruction letters prepared by the Tax Department.
- Participate in client meetings regarding tax transactions.
- Prepare quotes or estimates of fees for tax engagements.
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Holds CPA designation.
- Successful completion of the CPA Canada In-depth Tax Course or working towards it.
- Minimum of 5 years of tax experience in a Public Accounting Firm.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client service skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide direction to team members.
- Excellent attention to detail skills with the ability to ensure accuracy of financial and tax information.
- Ability to work independently and cohesively with a team.
- High level of professionalism and integrity.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
