Position Overview:

As a Patient Care Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in enhancing healthcare outcomes for patients. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire specimen collection process, ensuring a seamless experience for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and gather necessary information, explaining the specimen collection process clearly.
  • Conduct phlebotomies, connect and disconnect holter monitors, and perform ECG tracings with precision.
  • Carry out specialized test collections, including medical/legal drug screens and paternity tests, while ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Maintain strong client relationships by addressing inquiries and following up on requests diligently.
  • Accurately enter patient demographics and requisition information into the system.
  • Prepare specimens for safe transportation and testing.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient computer skills with a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of patient privacy and confidentiality.
