About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Solutions Specialist to join our Global Technology Services Management and Support Team at Company 1 - The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the development of innovative solutions that enhance system reliability and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement application monitoring strategies.
  • Develop and set up monitoring tools within our Monitoring Platform, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Design and build new application monitors, dashboards, and creative solutions to surface operational data and simplify the lives of our colleagues.
  • Create automation solutions using scripting languages and APIs to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills and tooling to identify and resolve application issues, performing root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop visibility into our vast data sets and help our partners understand this data to inform business decisions.
  • Support and enhance our current toolset, ensuring it remains relevant and effective in meeting business needs.
  • Promote reliability engineering best practices within our team and across the organization.
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure information is comprehensive and accessible to both technical and non-technical members.
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal teams, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Adapt to evolving priorities and requirements, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in a technical role in IT, including co-op experiences.
  • Coding experience with NodeJS or JavaScript.
  • Scripting experience with languages such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Experience with monitoring tools: New Relic, Dynatrace, CA APM, PRTG.
  • Data-driven approach, passionate about using data to drive business outcomes and enhance customer experiences.
  • Dedicated and able to work independently, with a continuous learning approach.
  • Focused on creating excellent customer experiences.

  • Clear, concise, and tactful communication skills.
  • Caring for fellow team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

  • Familiarity with AI Operations tooling such as Moogsoft.
  • Understanding of Reliability Engineering and its benefits.
  • Sense of humor and ability to have fun in a team environment.
  • Vendor management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and overcome barriers.
  • Understanding of the Financial Services or Insurance Industry and/or Large Enterprise knowledge.
  • ITIL Foundations or Practitioner level certifications (especially Support Operations).
