Job Title: Elementary School Principal

The Toronto Catholic District School Board is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Elementary School Principal to lead our schools and provide exceptional educational experiences for our students.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the direction for the school, aligning with the strategic direction of the Board, and building a shared vision and a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive culture. They will provide effective curriculum leadership support, manage the school's resources, and promote professional growth among staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set the direction for the school and align with the Board's strategic direction
  • Provide effective curriculum leadership support and manage the school's resources
  • Promote professional growth among staff and manage the school's operations
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including parents, parish priests, trustees, and external agencies
Requirements:
  • Completion of Religious Education Part 1
  • Completion of the Foundation Series – Discerning Catholic Leadership Program by June 2025
  • Completion of Principal's Qualifications Part 2 by June 2025
  • New: completion of either two specialist or honours specialist qualifications, or master's degree (or proof of enrolment in a master's program with completion of at least one course by the closing of the posting
  • 1 year of experience as a Vice Principal in the Elementary panel as of June 30, 2024
  • Demonstrated experience in nurturing the Catholic faith community, personally and organizationally, in support of student achievement
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in areas of instruction, curriculum, and assessment within a school
  • Demonstrated experience fostering and/or creating a safe and healthy learning environment for all students
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and building effective relationships with stakeholders
