Job Opportunity: Elementary School Principal

The Toronto Catholic District School Board is seeking a dedicated and visionary leader to serve as Elementary School Principal. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experience of our students and contributing to the Board's mission of providing excellence in Catholic education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a shared vision for the school, aligning with the Board's strategic direction and fostering a collaborative, diverse, and inclusive culture.
  • Provide effective curriculum leadership support, promoting student achievement and wellbeing, and addressing equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Manage and administer school resources, including staff, student registration, attendance, and promotion, as well as discipline and student records.
  • Support professional growth through fair, effective, and timely performance appraisals, including Annual Learning and Growth Plans.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including parents, parish priests, trustees, and external agencies.
Requirements:
  • Completion of Religious Education Part 1 and the Foundation Series – Discerning Catholic Leadership Program.
  • Principal's Qualifications Part 2 and either two specialist or honours specialist qualifications or a master's degree (or proof of enrolment in a master's program with completion of at least one course).
  • 1 year of experience as a Vice Principal in the Elementary panel, with demonstrated experience in nurturing the Catholic faith community and supporting student achievement.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in areas of instruction, curriculum, and assessment, as well as fostering a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders, communicate effectively, and problem-solve and make informed decisions.
