Retention and New Associate Experience
- Oversee and implement the District's onboarding program for new associates.
- Guide and mentor onboarding Ambassadors throughout the district.
- Assist and educate managers to ensure new associates receive the necessary support during their onboarding journey.
- Analyze trends and areas for enhancement based on insights from the onboarding program, exit interviews, and associate feedback.
- Identify and recommend solutions to address local retention issues in collaboration with the Area Human Resources Manager and District Manager.
- Facilitate team development by coaching leaders in effective people management and associate development processes.
- Advise supervisors and managers on creating and executing impactful development plans for their associates.
- Track development plans to ensure progress and escalate to the District Manager if adjustments are necessary.
- Prepare documentation and reports for district-level succession planning and quarterly talent review meetings.
- Implement the Area training plan by partnering with location leaders to ensure associates complete required functional training.
- Work with all departments to assess and propose appropriate staffing levels based on growth trends and workforce planning tools.
- Provide staffing assistance to leadership by collaborating on recruitment efforts, including establishing partnerships with local technical schools and universities.
- Connect field recruiters with the District Manager to strategize and prioritize recruiting efforts.
- Proactively cultivate relationships at locations to foster a positive culture and engaging environment.
- Develop and maintain a workplace that reflects our Employee Value Proposition by advising associates and management on HR policies and collective bargaining agreements.
- Participate in investigations of associate concerns, preparing summaries, and collaborating with the Area HR Manager on recommendations.
- Assist Area HR Managers in partnering with Labor Relations, conducting location risk assessments, and reinforcing Positive Associate Relations training goals.
- Stay informed about employment laws relevant to locations.
- Communicate effectively and follow up to ensure legal compliance through regular analysis and adherence to Penske policies.
- Focus on compensation equity and compliance with the Associate Handbook acknowledgment.
- Ensure all company and legally mandated training requirements are fulfilled, including Harassment Prevention and Workplace Violence training.
- Address compensation issues with the Area HR Manager and collaborate with centralized compensation to implement solutions.
- Partner with specialized corporate resources for matters such as diversity & inclusion, leave of absence, accommodations, benefits, and safety.
- Lead the integration and execution necessary to successfully assimilate new associates into our organizational culture.
- Provide ongoing support for the integration process through consistent onsite meetings, onboarding, staffing, and training.
