Director, Facilities Management Projects Leader

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned and accomplished Director, Facilities Management Projects to provide visionary leadership and effective direction for all stages of the design and construction of approved capital projects across Fraser Health. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of project management, budget control, procurement strategies, contract negotiations, and dispute resolutions, while working in partnership to establish policies, requirements, and approvals that enable successful and effective project implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive capital and operating budgets, ensuring the efficient utilization of financial resources within established objectives, plans, and budgets.
  • Recommend strategies to optimize current and potential funding for capital projects, including liaison with Capital Finance to support capital cash flow and budget targets.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture within the project management portfolio, promoting a commitment to collaboration and support of stakeholders.
  • Ensure fairness and consistency in adherence to Facilities Maintenance procurement guidelines, rules, and regulations.
  • Oversee the recruitment and professional development of employees through the formal assessment of training needs and implementation of employee development plans.
  • Create a culture of excellence by training, coaching, and mentoring new and existing staff to ensure staff growth and development, as well as engagement.
  • Assist with the implementation of process improvement changes within the portfolio and support change management initiatives.
  • Ensure that sites and facilities are planned, designed, and built to meet clinical outcomes and align with the latest standards and best practices in health facility design, project delivery, and environmental sustainability.

Requirements:

  • A Master's degree and professional designation in a relevant discipline.
  • Ten (10) years of recent, related experience in progressively more complex senior leadership roles in a large multi-site organization with responsibilities for managing the design and construction of healthcare/facilities development projects.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
