Position Overview: We are currently looking for a full-time Youth and Family Support Counsellor to join our Therapeutic Foster Care Program. This role is vital in providing a culturally sensitive therapeutic approach that prioritizes the experiences of Indigenous children. Our program is built on the foundation of cultural knowledge, ensuring that family-based care is both effective and respectful.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a structured environment that promotes personal and social development for each client.
  • Engage actively in team meetings, training sessions, and planning activities.
  • Manage a range of therapeutic responsibilities for assigned children, youth, and their families, including participation in case conferences and intervention strategies.
  • Ensure the living space meets the standards set by the Licensing Department and is well-maintained.
  • Handle various operational tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation for clients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Nursing, or a related field, along with two to four years of relevant experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Preferred experience working with youth.
  • Proof of professional registration may be necessary for specific qualifications.
  • A valid class 5 driver's license and personal transportation are required.
