Position: Security Team Lead
Status: Full-Time
Hours: Rotating Continental
Pay Rate: $23.00/hr.
Site Description: St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton has been dedicated to serving the community for over 120 years, focusing on compassion, innovation, and commitment to patient care.
Role Responsibilities:
The Security Team Lead is accountable for overseeing the performance and activities of Security Officers within their designated area.
- Provide guidance, direction, and continuous training to staff.
- Ensure adherence to all operational protocols and daily tasks for each shift.
- Monitor compliance with all security policies and procedures.
- Develop and manage shift schedules.
- Confirm that all Security Officers complete required training.
- Encourage and recognize staff achievements.
- Address disciplinary issues and maintain proper documentation.
- Manage attendance and performance metrics.
- Conduct security assessments and audits.
- Document and investigate security-related incidents and concerns.
- Conduct proactive and reactive security patrols.
- Communicate any issues or concerns with management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years of security experience, preferably in healthcare; experience in mental health is advantageous.
- Post-secondary education in law enforcement or security from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- At least one year of supervisory or team lead experience is preferred.
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
- Proof of double Covid Vaccination.
- Immunization records for required vaccinations.
- Current First Aid and CPR Level C Certification.
- Ability to provide certifications in Use of Force and Management of Aggressive Behaviour.
- Applicants without these certifications may enroll in Paladin's training program prior to onboarding.
