Compensation Structure:

Teaching Assistant, Course Coordinator, and Lab Demonstrator roles are compensated based on the qualifications held by the employee:

  • Undergraduate rate for those without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree.
  • Graduate rate for those with a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree.
  • Additional duties will be compensated at the appropriate Teaching Assistant rate.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant will align with Article 22 of the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. Duties include:

  • Scheduled interactions with students.
  • Preparation of seminar materials.
  • Student consultations.
  • Grading and marking assignments.
  • Proctoring examinations.
  • Attending lectures and holding office hours.
  • Other administrative tasks related to the course.

Qualifications Required:

To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 85% in MBAB 5P02 and an overall average of 80%.
  • Excellent proficiency in the English language.
  • Experience with Excel.
  • Responsibility and efficiency in task execution.
  • No concurrent TA or grading responsibilities assigned.
  • Previous experience as a TA is advantageous but not mandatory.
