Job Overview:

This role is pivotal in guiding the maintenance execution team, encompassing direction-setting, personnel development, quality oversight, and the implementation of enhancements while measuring outcomes.

The incumbent will oversee and coordinate both routine and significant maintenance operations across various facilities in the Southeast US. Acting as the primary liaison between Operations and maintenance personnel, this position is responsible for approving, prioritizing, and scheduling work notifications. Additionally, it holds the primary accountability for ensuring the safety and efficiency of service personnel on-site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Champion the maintenance execution work process to align with business objectives and ensure safe, high-quality, and reliable maintenance services.
  • Manage maintenance and operations work orders, including creation, prioritization, release, review, and closure.
  • Optimize maintenance execution practices to achieve cost-effective results, focusing on resource scheduling, training, and high-quality work execution with an emphasis on Safety and Reliability.
  • Lead the execution of both planned and unplanned unit shutdowns, including job planning, critical path scheduling, and tracking closeout activities.
  • Accountable for the execution of major and minor plant turnarounds.
  • Conduct regular reviews of execution quality and efficiency.
  • Implement and uphold disciplined maintenance execution practices and standards.
  • Assist in developing maintenance budgets and controlling expenditures through effective tracking and forecasting.
  • Support the use of high-quality Maintenance and Reliability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive performance and improvements.
  • Approve and prioritize maintenance work notifications to ensure alignment with plant reliability and availability goals.
  • Eliminate unnecessary work and manage the backlog of approved tasks.
  • Engage daily with Facility Managers and Shift Supervisors to clarify work priorities and respond to scheduling changes.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to operations personnel and collaborate with various departments for technical and procurement assistance.
  • Participate in root cause failure analyses and corrective actions for recurring issues.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in maintenance repairs, engineering, and reliability activities, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
  • Key skills include effective communication, interpersonal relationships, facilitation, influencing, negotiating, and the ability to operate within a matrix organization.
  • Proven ability to develop others and foster diverse relationships throughout the organization.
  • Comprehensive understanding of equipment and overall plant manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with environmental, safety, and health procedures and issues.
  • Understanding of mechanical and instrument equipment maintenance, mechanical integrity, and inspection processes.
  • Experience with turnaround execution, maintenance programs, work processes, and best practices.
  • Technical competencies in troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, general computer skills, work planning, and estimating.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, drive issues to resolution, and achieve results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
