Server Role Summary

The Server role at Dominion Bar + Kitchen is a key position that requires a high level of customer service and attention to detail. As a Server, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests, ensuring that every meal is memorable and unique.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide guests through the menu, answer questions, and make recommendations to ensure a personalized dining experience.
  • Explain menu items, describing ingredients and cooking methods, to enhance the guest's understanding of our culinary offerings.
  • Ensure that all guests benefit from current promotions and upcoming events.
  • Assist the host or hostess by answering phones, taking reservations, and greeting guests.
  • Participate in the training and development of new employees when required.
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant.
  • Perform various guest services, including taking orders, serving food and beverages, and collecting payments.
  • Check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
  • Verify guests' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consuming alcoholic beverages.
  • Clean tables and counters after guests have finished dining.
  • Stock service areas with supplies, such as coffee, food, and tableware.
  • Perform cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, and tidying up the server station.

Requirements

  • Previous serving experience is preferred but not necessary.
  • Must be Serving it Right and Food Safe Level 1 certified or willing to become certified.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
