Weight Room Attendant

City of Abbotsford is seeking a qualified and professional Weight Room Attendant to join our team. As a Weight Room Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants in the weight rooms at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre and Matsqui Recreation Centre.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide supervision and instruction to patrons in the fitness centers.
- Orientate new patrons to the weight room, teaching them how to use equipment and reviewing rules.
- Ensure all patrons are using equipment safely and properly.
- Enforce general rules of conduct and treat injuries.
- Open and close the fitness center, ensuring it is safe for operations.
- Secure the fitness center at the end of the day and perform daily cleaning tasks.
- Check and report any equipment that may need repairs.
- Provide high-quality customer service and maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
- Current BCRPA Fitness Theory Certification and Weight Room Certification or equivalent.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR 'C', and AED certification.
- Ability to apply theory-based knowledge in anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of fitness equipment and machines.
The Weight Room Attendant will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with patrons and staff. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
